My trek through life started as a military brat. My father was in the U.S. Air Force, which meant we moved about every three years. I got to live in Japan, Okinawa, and many states across our wonderful country. When my father retired from the Air Force, we moved to San Antonio, Texas. This is where I fell in love with TEX-MEX food, and I consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur.
After high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy and became a nuclear power plant operator. I spent three years on the USS Richard B. Russell (SSN 687), a fast-attack submarine, and later taught nuclear power plant operations for my final three years. After eight years in the Navy, I spent five years working in commercial nuclear power while pursuing a degree, ultimately finding my passion in dentistry.
I graduated from UTHSC San Antonio in 1991 and was accepted into an AEGD-1 year program in the U.S. Army, where I quickly discovered my aptitude for surgery. After four years, I left active duty and retired from the reserves with 23 years of total service, achieving the rank of LTC.
In 2011, I co-founded Dental Development Seminars, where I’ve been teaching dentists how to become more efficient at third molar extractions (including wisdom teeth extraction), dental implantology, and molar endodontics. My techniques, passed on by Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, are designed to help dentists refine their flap design and extraction procedures. I ensure that my students leave my courses with a quiver full of arrows, equipped with advanced techniques in dental surgery that improve both their confidence and patient outcomes.
For the past 22 years, I’ve owned a private practice in Willis and Conroe, Texas. My practice is centered on cutting-edge dental treatments, such as TMJ functional treatment, dental implants, sinus lift procedures, and the Perio-Protect Method. I also use L-prf to promote faster healing in patients. I’m always seeking ways to refine procedures, making them more efficient for both the patient and the practitioner.
Since 1995, I’ve lived in Panorama, Texas, with my wife Angela. We have two children and six grandchildren. In my spare time, I enjoy woodworking, flying, and tinkering around the garage.
